This workshop, guided by Chantal Barton, explores the inner-ecosystem of muscles, breath, and focus that create a healthy exploration of spinal extension (backbends/heart openers).
We’ll take a closer look at the anatomy of backbends, especially in relation to your own practice as our bodies are a living story of our anatomy, experiences, and mental/emotional states. This workshop is focused on a brain-based movement approach to create an understanding of how to explore backbends in a way that nurtures your body. From anatomy discussion we will then move through an asana practice and you’ll learn how the support of props can encourage a strong foundation in these shapes.
This workshop is for everyone, regardless of mobility.
